RCMP entrance assessment: cognitive practice and official guidance
Brain Preflight · 2026-10-10
Prepare for the RCMP online entrance assessment with official resources and a clear distinction between cognitive exercises and personality assessment.
Check your recruitment route
The RCMP’s Federal Policing recruitment page describes an Online Entrance Assessment covering workstyle, language comprehension, numerical skills, spatial skills, memory and business reasoning. It also links to a preparatory guide. Use the instructions sent by your recruiter: provincial police services and other routes can use different processes.
Cognitive practice has a specific role
For numerical practice, review the method behind each wrong answer before increasing speed. For spatial questions, work out which features remain the same after rotation. For memory exercises, note whether you lose the items themselves or their order. These are ways to structure practice, not claims that app scores predict recruitment results.
Workstyle is not a maths test
The assessment includes personality and behaviour as well as cognitive ability. Do not approach workstyle questions as a puzzle with a hidden ideal persona. Read the official instructions and answer honestly. Brain Preflight does not supply answers to personality or suitability assessments.
Using Brain Preflight alongside the official guide
The app provides general reasoning, mental arithmetic, memory and spatial exercises. You can use it for short practice sessions and review your performance. It is not the RCMP assessment, an official simulator or a complete police recruitment course. Start with the official preparatory guide before deciding what extra practice you need.
