Skyguide selection: FEAST is one part of the process

Skyguide’s published recruitment pathway separates FEAST 1 cognitive tests from FEAST 2 work-sample and personality tasks. Later stages include individual and interview work, spoken English and a selection camp. An app routine is useful for the underlying skills, but it is not the whole application. Check Skyguide’s current requirements and your invitation, and use the official EUROCONTROL familiarisation platform for FEAST controls and instructions.

Choose air traffic control rather than a pilot programme

In Brain Preflight choose the air traffic controller aptitude programme, which names FEAST and Skyguide. It combines Airways, Psychomotor, 2-back memory, Shapes & colours, spatial exercises, Logic sequences and Calculation grid. The Swiss preparation overview distinguishes this route from SWISS pilot selection and SPHAIR screening. Having similar skill families does not make the controller test a pilot test.

Match exercises to the skill you need

Original examples for careful information handling

Code check: compare L7Q2 with L7O2. How many positions differ?

One position differs: Q becomes O in position three. Compare position by position rather than relying on the overall shape of the string.

A practice flow has 24 movements over 8 minutes. What is the average per minute?

24 ÷ 8 = 3. This is an average, so it does not mean that exactly three movements occur in every minute.

You face north and turn 90° right, then 180°. Which way do you face?

North → east → west. Work through the two changes in order. These are original skills examples, not FEAST test items.

Prepare English and teamwork outside the cognitive routine

Skyguide publishes a separate oral-English stage. Add listening and spoken explanations to your plan; tapping answers in your preferred interface language is not speaking practice. For individual or group exercises, use real examples of how you communicate a plan, notice a misunderstanding and take feedback. Avoid trying to manufacture a perfect personality profile.

A five-session day can use one memory task, one arithmetic task, one spatial task and two attention or multitasking sessions. In each review, distinguish a rule error from a speed error. If you knew the rule but rushed, keep the next session controlled; if you misunderstood it, restate the instruction before continuing.

What this preparation does not claim

The app’s tasks are its own skill exercises. It does not reproduce proprietary FEAST work samples, predict a Skyguide decision or issue a licence. Premium offers the app’s own longer routines and diagnostics, not an official FEAST result. For wider context, use the existing FEAST guide linked below, or compare Edelweiss pilot preparation if you are exploring a cockpit career instead.

Frequently asked questions

Is Skyguide preparation free in Brain Preflight?

You can use 5 free sessions every day on any available exercise. Premium adds optional unlimited sessions and the app’s own longer routines and diagnostics.

Are FEAST 1 and FEAST 2 the same assessment?

No. Skyguide describes FEAST 1 as cognitive testing and FEAST 2 as work-sample testing with personality assessment. Follow the current Skyguide invitation for the actual stages.

Does Airways reproduce FEAST 2?

No. Airways provides traffic-management and divided-attention practice. It is an original app exercise, not a reproduction of an official FEAST work sample.
